Jose Mourinho kept his Roma players on the pitch for a full-time team talk after their 3-2 defeat against Lazio in Sunday's Derby della Capitale.
The Giallorossi suffered their second Serie A defeat of the season against Maurizio Sarri's men, who stormed into a 2-0 lead in after 20 minutes at the Stadio Olimpico thanks to goals from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Pedro.
Ibanez pulled one back for Roma four minutes before half-time, but just under 20 minutes into the second half Felipe Anderson restored Lazio's two-goal advantage.
Jordan Veretout fired in a penalty six minutes later to give Mourinho's side a glimmer of hope, but they were unable to find an all-important equaliser against their bitter rivals.
Roma have now lost two of their last three league matches, having also slumped to a 3-0 defeat away at Verona last weekend.
And after watching his side come unstuck again, Mourinho decided to conduct his full-time team talk on the pitch at the Stadio Olimpico.
The 58-year-old refused to disclose what he said to his players, insisting it stays between them.
“What we said stays between us. I wanted to immediately do the talk there, but with the same intimacy as the locker room," he told.
“Let me say something positive first, which is that Italian football has improved a great deal from 10 years ago. The quality of football, the attacking approach, the desire to win, has all improved.”
Mourinho was left furious with a number of refereeing decisions in the derby, claiming Lucas Leiva should have been brandished a second yellow card for an elbow.

The only place to go when you're down is UP. And you must show the courage with definitive plan to rise up again.

It was nice that he conducted a full-team talk after the match. We know that he’s a responsible person 😊

the game was superb to watch..... Roma seems more dangerous in attack but only Abraham not getting more chances seems some selfish run from Zaniolo, though he was superb on wings but try to become Ronaldo... he never had a cross to the giant Abraham... who continuously waiting for his cross, but seems quite frustrated. As Zaniolo takes it in himself as he had some good run but not enough to beat Reina. Reina was stunning at this age. he was too good even Liverpool might shy to sold him after so long years.... hahaha ... jokes apart but Roma players intensity was stunning. Jose had a great squade to challenge for top 4 spot. Good luck Jose.... make your defence strong as All goals from Lazio looks clear defensive errors by Roma defender.... at Mancini should be always at back... let the other push. also Al Sharavy can be act as super sub instead of regular starter.

Am with you always Jose
the players let him down. they were too sluggish. especially Mancini and cristante. pellergini's absence should not have made the team lack motivation. mikhitaryan was simply pedestrian. if Tammy Abraham had gotten enough support and supply, Roma would have won. Roma players need to have passion and confidence like Abraham, and their coach
