Former Portugal international Nani believes Cristiano Ronaldo has proved he is still the world's best player following his first season in Serie A.
Cristiano Ronaldo is still the world's best player despite not reaching his usual heights at Juventus, according to former Portugal team-mate Nani.
Lots of goals in Italy for Ronaldo
Ronaldo helped Juve win Serie A and the Supercoppa Italiana in his first season in Italy, scoring 28 goals in 43 games in all competitions.
However, that was the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's lowest scoring return since 2008-09, when he netted 26 for Manchester United.
But Nani β now playing for MLS side Orlando City β has no doubt Ronaldo is still the best player in the world.
"It was a successful season for him. I think he did great," he told Omnisport.
"It is not easy to play in Italy because the football there is very tactical, the defenders there defend a lot.
"He scored a lot of goals, continued to be the best in the world. I think he did great."
While Juve won an eighth successive Serie A title, they again fell short in their bid for a first Champions League crown since 1996, losing to Ajax in the quarter-finals.

-They said he would never match Messi's 4 UCL since he had 1 only. - They said that Ronaldo will never match Messi's 5 Ballon d'or. - They said Ronaldo was finished and Paulihbo is better than him. Name : Ronaldo. Job : Shutting his haters.

Although he has scored less goals this season as compared to his previous season still I think it has been a great season for him . He moved to a defensive league at the age of 33,so its no surprise that his numbers will decrease. But since he is Cristiano Ronaldo the expectations are always high from him. Just think if any other top player would have moved to Serie A at the age of 33, and just imagine if he scores 28 goals, single handley saves his side against atletico, and scores all his team goals in knockout stages of UCL and wins most points(18) through goalsin Europe top 5 leagues, and wins Sere A MVP then that player would have praised in the media but since it is Cristiano haters will say he had a average season.
