Gianluca Gaetano is mourning the loss of his grandmother, who died while celebrating the attacking midfielder’s Serie A debut for Napoli.
Il Mattino reports Gaetano’s grandmother Carmela had taken to the streets of Naples with family members to celebrate his cameo against SPAL on Sunday.
However, she suffered a fatal heart attack after she had got into a dispute with neighbours, who complained about the noise.
The 19-year-old, who can also play on the left wing or as a second striker, has scored 21 goals and provided eight assists for the Partenopei’s Primavera team this season.
