Jean-Clair Todibo, the young centre-back from Toulouse who has signed for Barcelona, has similar qualities to Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, accorhding to Manu Garcia, his teammate at Toulouse, in an interview with Radio Marca.
"Todibo is a great player. Similar to Varane? As footballers we don't like it when we're compared with other players, but it's true that they have similar characteristics," said the Toulose man, who's shared a dressing room with the new Barcelona signing.
Manu Garcia, however, recognised that Todibo is going through a tough moment at the French club, where he has been frozen out of first team duty after refusing to sign a new deal.
"Now, we don't see him much," he added. "It's a strange situation and it's even affected us in the league. When we see him, we talk with him. [Todibo] is a player with great qualities."
Barça are in talks with Toulouse about bringing in Todibo this month, with the idea of sending him on loan for the rest of the season. If a deal cannot be reached, he will join at the end of the season when his contract expires.
