OFFICIAL: Leandro Paredes has joined Juventus for the 2022/23 season on a loan deal with a purchase option.
The Argentine midfielder made his professional debut at Boca Juniors in 2010, before featuring for a number of Italian clubs: Chievo Verona, AS Roma and Empoli.
Signed by Zenit St. Petersburg in 2017, he became an integral part of the team, scoring 10 goals in 61 matches.
In January 2019, Leandro Paredes joined Paris Saint-Germain. In four seasons, he played 117 games, including the 2019/20 Champions League final, and added three French league titles, two Coupes de France, a Coupe de la Ligue and two Trophées des Champions to his medal collection.
Paris Saint-Germain would like to wish Leandro Paredes a great season in his new colours.
PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes has completed a loan move to Juventus.
The deal is believed to have an option to buy at the end of the season for a fee in the region of £13million, with PSG manager Luis Campos keen to shift 'deadwood' from his squad.
The 28-year-old, who joined the French champions for £36million in 2019, still has two years remaining on his contract, but has returned to Italy after five years away in search of regular first team football.
Paredes had also been subject of interest from Manchester United earlier in the transfer window, with PSG then demanding £29.7m for his services, but Campos' side seem to have lowered their valuation.
He joined the club from Zenit St Petersburg after stints at Chievo, Roma and Empoli, and has since contributed just three goals and 10 assists in 108 games.
However having played 117 games for the club, he has been a major part in the sides that won three Ligue 1 titles, three French Super Cups, two French Cups and a French League Cup.
It is believed that PSG will now step up their pursuit of Napoli's Fabian Ruiz after several weeks of talks and interest.
And though both Paredes and Ruiz operate in the centre of midfield, the more offensive Spaniard is not a like-for-like swap for the Argentinian, and the French side will therefore be left short in defensive midfield.
Danilo Pereira - who is of interest from Arsenal - would be the only recognised senior deep-lying midfielder at the club, with former Everton disruptor Idrissa Gueye also capable.
The club may therefore dip into the market for more reinforcements before tomorrow's deadline.

I'm happy because the Argentine joined another big team in Italy and I hope things go well for him there so that he goes to the world cup high on confidence. all the best, I would have been angry if he joined a small team that doesn't compete for trophies, with Juventus we can only be happy for him because we know the demands in the Italian giants
