Napoli have officially signed Diego Demme from RB Leipzig in a deal worth a reported €13m.
The 28-year-old midfielder had his medical on Friday and put pen to paper on the contract in Rome today.
It was confirmed by a tweet from President Aurelio De Laurentiis: “Welcome Diego!”
Demme was enthusiastic about the idea of this move, because although he was born and raised in Germany, his father is Italian and a passionate Napoli supporter.
In fact, Demme was named Diego after Napoli legend Diego Armando Maradona.
Partenopei fans are eagerly awaiting the next week, which should announce Stanislav Lobotka’s arrival from Celta Vigo.
He too had his medical this morning in Rome, after a €20m plus bonuses deal was agreed.
