In her autobiography released this week, Paul Pogba’s mother Yeo Moriba has notably discussed the conflict between two of her sons, with Mathias currently incarcerated over his alleged role in an extortion attempt of his brother.
Having been told by her editor to add a passage on the situation, which she reluctantly accepted to do in an epilogue, she told AFP that the conflict was “breaking my heart”.
RMC Sport report that in the book, entitled “And in the End, We Win”, she says that Mathias was caught in a “trap, he was manipulated, antagonised by people who were close to us. We feel betrayed.” She goes on to speak of “big, big sharks”, who were motivated by “extreme jealousy”.
However, she was more interested in speaking about other topics in the book, specifically about football itself, in a biography which her sons had encouraged her to write. Moriba notably speaks about the family’s shared passion and how she impressed her sons by telling them that she was part of the first women’s team back in Guinea.
She also says that she wanted to write the book as a message to women who have lost their husbands to not give up – the Pogba brothers’ father passed away in 2017. The book concludes with the 2018 World Cup win, and insists that “the Pogba clan will always be here”, and that the brothers “will always hold hands“.

Not surprising. Most mothers will not blame their erring children. Instead will deflect it elsewhere. 😙
