Paulo Dybala has reportedly chosen Atletico Madrid as his next club as the Argentine prepares to leave Juventus after seven years in Turin.

Talks over a new deal for Dybala with Juventus have been torn up by the club and he is set to leave the captain's armband and number 10 shirt behind when his deal expires this summer.

His position in Maximiliano Allegri's team has suffered as a result of the January arrival of Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina in the January transfer window.

Now, as he weighs up who his next club will be, Atletico Madrid are in pole position to land the 28-year-old, according to Mundo Deportivo.

It's claimed Atletico investigated potentially signing him a few years ago but Juventus were not willing to part ways with the Argentine then.

However, now he is back on the market, Diego Simeone is desperate to land his signature and bolster his attacking ranks this summer in his search for a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

It's claimed that Argentine midfielder Rodrigo de Paul is doing al he can to convince his international team-mate to move to the Spanish capital.

Dybala has been in fine form this season, with 13 goals and 6 assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.

Earlier this month reports in Italy suggested Juventus' fierce rivals Inter Milan are reportedly prepared to offer Dybala a five-year contract.

However Mundo Deportivo also claim that in order for them to bring Dybala in, Lautaro Martinez will have to be sold.

Atletico Madrid are also interested in Martinez but are not willing to pay the €70million (£60m) fee it will take to get him out of the San Siro.

Martinez has close ties with Atletico and even had a medical there before he left Argentina to sign with Inter Milan in 2018.
