Pavard tells Bayern that he wants to leave with Barça move on the cards

Benjamin Pavard could be Barça's next right-back. According to Sky Germany, the French international has asked to leave Bayern Munich this summer, rejecting the option of renewing his contract, which expires in 2024.

Pavard wants the German club to listen to proposals and has a clear destination, which could be Barça as long as the economic conditions are favourable.

The defender wants to finish his cycle in the Bundesliga taking advantage of the serious sporting crisis at the German club, despite their last-day title success, and will force the issue so that his price is not high.

Pavard was offered to Barça a few months ago by his agent, Pini Zahavi, who has a great relationship with the Blaugrana president, Joan Laporta.

The Israeli agent already engineered the arrival of Robert Lewandowski last summer and is now also focused on bringing Yannick Carrasco to Camp Nou by trying to get Atletico Madrid to lower the price stipulated in Barca's option to buy.

The Bayern full-back has been liked by Barça despite interest cooling due to the player's determination to play more as a centre-back.

In the last few weeks, they have come closer again and Pavard would accept a role playing both at full-back and centre-back for the Blaugrana.

The coaches liked Juan Foyth (Villarreal) more, but Pavard was always on the list and they will go for him as long as Bayern accept a reasonable price.

Bayern's sporting and executive crisis is slowing things down. Bayern initially priced Pavard at around 35 million euros, a figure that Barça consider exorbitant because he has one year left on his contract.

Now comes Zahavi's work with Bayern to find an operation that is viable for all parties without excluding a player exchange.

Barça have several avenues open to them to sign a full-back, but Pavard's profile fits because of his defensive strength and international experience.

He has the OK from the coaches although there are also other full-backs in the pipeline such as Diogo Dalot (Manchester United), Joao Cancelo (Manchester City) and Foyth (Villarreal), although the price of the latter is too high.
