Matteo Politano was back in the Italian capital of Rome today for personal reasons according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb.
Reports emerged earlier on today that the 26-year-old winger was back in Rome which led to suggestions being made that a move to Roma could be on the cards for him but TuttoMercatoWeb insist that this was not the case.
Last week the former Sassuolo man looked set to join the Giallorossi club as part of a swap deal that would have seen Leonardo Spinazzola head to Inter but the deal collapsed at the last minute as Inter tried to change the terms of the deal.
Reports elsewhere in the Italian media have suggested that despite the collapse in talks, Rome have maintained their interest in signing Italian international Politano and he could well join them in a loan with option to buy deal before the end of the transfer window.
