Prosecutors in Perugia have called this Monday for four more people to be indicted in the investigation into Luis Suarez's Italian test from the summer of 2020. At the time, when he was linked with a transfer to Juventus, the Uruguayan took an Italian test to help with an application for Italian citizenship and an investigation has found that he knew the questions before sitting it.
The four people are Juventus lawyer Maria Turco, as well as Giuliano Grego Bolli, Simone Olivieri and Stefania Spina. The latter three were working at the University for Foreigners of Perugia at the time when Suarez sat the exam at the institution, which was on September 17, 2020.
A preliminary hearing for this quartet has been set for September 28, 2021, according to reports in Italy.
Through intercepted telephone conversations, the judiciary found that Suarez's test had been fixed and the player himself admitted so when he was investigated as a witness, not a suspect. He explained that he had received the questions by email beforehand.
In any case, Suarez didn't join Juventus in the end. He signed with Atletico Madrid and helped them win LaLiga Santander.
