The Qatari government is reportedly considering investment in Roma or Milan as it looks to expand its portfolio in football.
According to Milano Finanza, Qatar – which already owns Paris Saint-Germain through the Qatar Investment Authority - is ‘following the two clubs closely’.
The website explains James Pallotta could sell up if the Stadio della Roma project continues to stagnate, with the Giallorossi already sponsored by Qatar Airways.
However, the lukewarm response to Qatari involvement at the Olimpico would have kept Milan ‘under consideration’.
Calcio e Finanza writes that while Elliott Management has guaranteed investment in the Rossoneri, it could leave the club in Qatari hands once the club’s accounts have been settled and plans for a new stadium are approved.
