Real Madrid's quarantine period comes to an end

The 15 day period has expired since club basketball player Trey Thompkins was diagnosed as positive with the Covod-19 virus.

The enforced quarantine period for both Real Madrid's football and basketball squads has come to an end with the 15 day quarantine period since US basketball player Trey Thompkins tested positive having expired.

Club sources have confirmed to AS that no other player has been diagnosed with the Covid-19 virus in the two week period with the Thompkins positive forcing over 700 members of staff to also be subjected to precautionary quarantine confinement.

Despite the fortnight having elapsed since the Thompkins case, nothing changes for any of the players with the Spanish government having extended the state of emergency through to the 12th of April. 

All members of Zinedine Zidane's squad remain in the Spanish capital with the exception of Luka Jovic who was given special dispensation from the club to return to Serbia, a move which provoked a tide of criticism from many in the Balkan state.

Status quo

At present, the first team squad are still carrying out daily fitness routines designed by Zidane's backroom staff in an effort to maintain optimum levels with the club having designed a specific nutritional guide for the team. The French has also spoken to members of the side and is in constant communication with Hazard, anxious to be updated on the Belgian's progression after his recent ankle operation in Dallas (Texas).
