Roma have budget approved to sign Zirkzee as they prepare huge bid

After being pushed out by manager Ruben Amorim, Zirkzee has since been omitted from all three Netherlands squads and is now set to miss out on the World Cup squad ahead of next year’s tournament.

The Dutch striker has 1 goal from 7 appearances this season and has recently filled in for the injured Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha.

The 24-year-old has now completed the full 90 minutes across back-to-back Premier League matches for United for the first time in the 2025-26 campaign, but he is unlikely to be handed any consistent game time when both players return, which only pushes him out of the side further.

Now, as reported by LaRoma24, Roma's management has received approval for the needed budget to secure a high-level striker as they eye up a move for Zirkzee which has been in the pipeline for months.

The report states that Roma's ownership will guarantee financial coverage for the deal and will back manager Gian Piero Gasperini in a move for Zirkzee if he sees fit.

There is less than a month until the January transfer window, and all eyes will be on Roma’s movements heading into what should be a hectic winter transfer window for Amorim and his side.
