Roma are set to sign highly-rated Turkish defender Mert Cetin from Genclerbirligi for a fee of around €3m.

Il Tempo and Gianluca Di Marzio both report the deal is done, while Fanatik spotted the 22-year-old with his agent, ready to jet into the Italian capital to complete his move.

Whereas Italian sources state the Giallorossi are paying €3.5m for his services, its Turkish counterpart has down a figure of €3m.

The Turkey Under-21 international is considered one of his country’s most promising defensive prospects and helped Genclerbirligi win promotion back to the top flight last season.

He will be joined at the Olimpico by compatriot Cengiz Under, who signed a new contract on Thursday.
