Dolores Aveiro, Cristiano Ronaldo's mother, has accused football's governing bodies of not treating her son fairly when it comes to handing out individual awards.
Cristiano has won five Ballon d'Ors during his career and is a contender to win his sixth this year.
"If there wasn't a football mafia, my son would have more [individual] international trophies," she told a Portuguese TV channel.
"If he was Spanish or English, they wouldn't have done what they did."

Is she serious? Got to admire the audacity to do it this year. Frankly CR7 did not deserve top 3 in any awards this year. Messi was top scorer in Europe n CL. Van Dijk was CL winner n had lowest no of dribbles past him. What did CR7 do- he was 4th in Series A where 37 yr old top scored. His only credentials were that his teams won Serie A n nations league. He was not the best player in either of the tournaments. He went ahead of Allison- CL winner, Copa America n numerous clean sheets. None of the other EPL winners were even considered. So if he wins it this year, It won't fair to any players as he did not deserve to be there. CR7 is a great player n Ask your self does he need to win a charity price???

you all know , in big games cr7 is a MONSTER... atleast lest year too he scored against ajax in both legs . he is a leader and we all saw it .... goals matter in football because that is a thing which make pressure on opposition and ronaldo knows this. in euro france played well but portugal score and win ... in ucl match ajax played well but tottenham won because of lucas goal . Barcelona's remantodas are because of goals ..... if your finisher is a monstor than it doesn't matter if you defense in awful , you will win (madrid vs bayern 2018) . wherever he go he will score and played his part . Wait a second was Ribery not treated fairly in 2013? That man should have won Balon D'Or but Ronaldo, given his popularity got it. Same story this year, Ronaldo was in top 3 for Fifa Best and most likely will be top 3 for Balon D'Or even though he doesn't deserve it. It should be Messi, Mane, and VVD. I'm a City fan so I know personally that Sterling could well and truley be up there. Without career and reputations on the table.....for this season and this calendar year only Messi, VVD, Mane, Allison, Sterling, Lewandowski (if his form continues) should be ahead of Cr7. I'm happy that their team has done great and won collectively but he hasn't scored any free kick and most of his goal were penalty. and every one says he helped juventus and protugal to win.what about other? if it's given in that way then every juventus players and Portugal players deserve balloon d'or. he is not even highest scorer in Europe. in my view Messi and VVD is right choice for ballon d'Or. Messi is the highest goal scorer he had fantastic year. he has most free kick he made the difference in every match. I think Messi deserve. VVD had great year but I don't find any logical explanation to give him ballon d'Or.
