Sampdoria are expected to pass on Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks.
While delighted with Winks' form in recent weeks, Samp management accept they cannot afford to meet the €25m valuation Spurs are demanding.
With Samp set to be relegated, the prospect of signing the midfielder is a non-starter, contrary to English media sources.
For his part, Winks also has little appetite to spend a year in Serie B - if not longer.
Winks' deal with Spurs runs to 2024.
