Should Inter Milan be concerned about Dybala's injury history?

Inter have opened talks with Paulo Dybala’s agent about a possible move but his injury history may prove to be a cause for concern.

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward’s contract expires with Juventus at the end of this season and there’s a genuine chance that he could leave Turin after seven years this summer. His agent Jorge Antun will meet with the Bianconeri on Thursday next week to discuss a possible renewal and he could look to pencil in a meeting with Beppe Marotta in the Lombardy capital as well.

Dybala is obviously a talented and exciting forward, capable of both launching and finishing deadly incisive attacks. He has scored seven goals in 20 Serie A appearances this campaign, being the team’s main focal point up front prior to Dusan Vlahovic’s arrival.

One factor that Inter should consider is the former Palermo man’s injury record, however. This campaign, Dybala has missed 14 games due to various issues, suffering from muscle problems and thigh issues. Last season the 28-year-old was sidelined for four months, missing 18 games after suffering a medial collateral ligament Injury.

His injuries have forced him to miss a number of key Juventus matches over the years, such as the return leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Bayern Munich in the 2015-16 season, or the two quarter-final matches against Ajax in the 2018-19 campaign.

Considering that Dybala will likely want wages that push close to €8-10m net per season, Inter must consider his injury history before deciding whether or not to pick up the Juventus man on a free transfer in the summer.
