Tottenham news as Antonio Conte's side travel to St Mary's Stadium hoping to respond to Newcastle United's 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest on Friday night in the race for the top four

Tottenham Hotspur return to action when they travel to Southampton in the Premier League today.

Spurs returned to winning ways last time out, beating relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest 3-1 at home a week ago. A trip to another team in danger of the drop presents a big chance for Antonio Conte's Tottenham to take another big step toward a top-four finish this season.

Newcastle United's 2-1 win at Forest on Friday night means there is just one point between Eddie Howe's side in fifth and Spurs in fourth. Indeed, Newcastle have a game-in-hand over Spurs and that will be two by the time the Southampton game takes place.

Saints, meanwhile, slumped to a home defeat to Brentford in midweek and are currently propping up the Premier League table but only two points separate them from safety. Ruben Selles' side managed a creditable goalless draw with Manchester United last weekend and beat Leicester City 1-0 two weeks ago.

Because Spurs' trip to Saints kicks off at 3pm on Saturday the game is not being shown live on television in the United Kingdom because of the blackout law regarding 3pm kick-offs. The match is being broadcast worldwide by the Premier League's rights holders, which includes beIN SPORTS and its streaming platform in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey and Sky Sports in Germany and Italy.

In Scandinavia and the Baltic region, ViaPlay and V Sport is showing the action while DAZN has the rights for Spain and Canal+ for France on their linear television channels and streaming platforms. The Republic of Ireland is exempt from the Premier League's blackout rule and Premier Sports 1 is broadcasting the Spurs match.

In the United States of America, Peacock Premium will show the game and FuboTV in Canada while Australia is covered by Optus Sports.
