Sport: Bastoni open to joining Barcelona, but needs to confirm Flick's intent first

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona reached an agreement with Bastoni last summer, but Flick ultimately did not approve the signing.

Now Barcelona are once again looking for a center-back, and Bastoni is still on Deco's list. After what happened last time, though, what does the Internazionale defender think? Bastoni has not closed any doors. Mundo Deportivo reports that he will always listen if Barcelona make an approach.

Last summer, Bastoni was deeply hurt. He had been eager to be part of Barcelona's plans and was ultimately left greatly disappointed. It is difficult for anyone to accept being rejected by a coach. Time will heal this disappointment, and the same is true for Bastoni.

However, Bastoni knows that if Barcelona want to sign him, they must show real sincerity. He is happy at Internazionale and is one of the team's captains this season. He is currently focused on Internazionale and believes he plays for one of Europe's top clubs. Bastoni's contract runs until 2028, his salary is among the highest in the squad, and Internazionale is his home.

Therefore, if he is to move to Barcelona, Bastoni has learned his lesson: he needs to be sure that he is not only Deco's priority target but also Flick's first choice. Deco has always made him feel that way. To that end, Bastoni wants to speak with Flick first and hear the German coach's thoughts directly.
