The calendar is on Real Madrid's side

The fixture schedule is Real Madrid's friend on this occasion as, just like applied for Valencia and Atletico Madrid, who played on Friday at Mestalla to give them more rest before facing Atalanta and Liverpool in the Champions League, the same treatment will be given to Real Madrid on March 13 against Eibar.

It is the last fixture before facing Pep Guardiola's Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the last 16 of the tournament, a tie which is bound to be crucial in securing qualification.

The schedule has not always been kind to Real Madrid this season with several complaints, including regarding the Clasico when they had 29 hours less rest than their rivals.

A similar case occurred last season ahead of the Copa del Rey semi-final when Barcelona had 26 hours more rest, provoking a complaint from coach Santiago Solari.

There were also complaints about the 16:00 CET kick off time in August for the first match of the season against Celta Vigo, obliging the team to travel the day before, whilst Barcelona and Atletico kicked off at 21:00 CET.
