Thomas Muller has warned his Germany team mates they cannot afford to become 'arrogant' after they demolished Portugal 4-2 to pick up their first win at Euro 2020.
The Portuguese took the lead through Cristiano Ronaldo but Germany fought back through own goals from Ruben Dias and Raphael Guerreiro, Kai Havertz and Robin Gosens also got on the scoresheet giving them a commanding 4-1 lead. Diogo Jota netted Portugal's second.
Muller, 31, was thrilled with his side's impressive display but warned his team mates that they still need to improve; and mustn't get carried away with the Saturday's emphatic victory.
'We had a lot of good aspects, but also a lot of things that we still have to improve. That can cost points in the end.' Muller said.
'Now we have three points, now we're good at it tournament and we have it in our own hands.
'Now we mustn't overdo it or become arrogant - but we can believe in our quality. We can feel a little euphoria.'
The win lifted Germany up to second in the Group F table, a point behind leaders France who were held to a 1-1 draw by Hungary on Saturday and level on points with Portugal who occupy third place.
The Germans will host Hungary in their final group game at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
