Thomas Partey could leave Arsenal this summer as two Serie A clubs prepare summer transfer bids for him
He has featured 32 times for the north Londoners in the Premier League, anchoring Arsenal's midfield to excellent effect. The Ghana international's eye-catching displays have reportedly courted the interest of a few clubs, so Arteta has a difficult decision to make.
If the Spaniard decides to sanction Partey's departure then the Gunners must be prepared to replace him – and quickly. The likes of Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo are understood to be on Edu's shortlist, but Arsenal are yet to reach an agreement with either.
So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest news regarding Partey and his future in north London.
Serie A switch
According to the Mirror, Partey is a target for two clubs in the Serie A. The 29-year-old midfielder has played a pivotal role in Arsenal's success this season but, following a drop in form, he could be offloaded as Arteta looks to spruce up his side.
Partey 'upgrade'
In an interview with bettingexpert.com, Mikael Silvestre urged Arsenal to replace Partey with Rice. The former Gunners defender said: "I think Partey has been excellent this season and he has played his best football for Arsenal.
"So, I expect him to respond and go back to his best after a few bad games. But obviously, every top club needs competition and Declan Rice, with all the respect for Thomas Partey, would be an upgrade, for sure."
La Liga return
Last summer, Partey was heavily linked with a return to La Liga following rumours of a falling out with Arteta. According to Spanish outlet AS, there were 'constant disagreements' between player and manager last season so the door was left open for a potential exit.
The Ghanian stayed put and went on to play a crucial role in Arsenal's title charge. The report states that Partey would have cost £30million (€35m), which is £15m less than what Arsenal paid Atletico Madrid for him in 2020.

if you say to sign Rice as Xhaka's replacement, i can understand that. but to say Rice is a replacement or even an upgrade to Partey, i think you need to check your brain.

Arteta has no worry. Just a phone call to Pep/Mancity he will get immediate replacement. Winning is not important. He just beholden to Pep.

All we need is to resign Joventus Wojcien Szczesny back to Arsenal No:1, just if we are not involving Wenger. Wenger why? No good books in terms of money under the table. He is a commander, a warrior and above all he has Arsenal at heart. Insha'Allah.

Arteta is as useless as tissue paper and if Arsenal doesn't fire him before the next season, Arsenal risk to being in the championship, frustrated from die hard Arsenal fan from Zambia

I don't see Arteta Offloading both Partey and Xhaka in the same season
Xhaka could go in the Summer window, Party in January.

Arteta is just a pathetic clown of a coach. I don't even know why he's not even fired regardless of how much money he's spent on players. I don't see us being anywhere near top four season with this guy arteta at our club...next season will be a very tough one for us
Au contraire. Arteta now knows where he went wrong in seizing the win and understands what's needs to be done to be crowned winners next season. Don't count him out as yet.
