Roma icon Francesco Totti has revealed plans to try and persuade Paulo Dybala to join the club at the end of the season.

The pair will both be in Milan on Monday for a charity match hosted by Samuel Eto'o at the San Siro.

Totti has opened up to Sky Italia about how he also plans to use the day as a chance to meet up with Dybala, in his attempts to lure the 28-year-old to Roma at the end of his Juventus contract next month.

He said: 'We'll see if we can bring him to Rome. I'll meet him on Monday and I hope to convince him.

'We're in Milan for Eto'o's match, we'll play together and I'll give him some advice.

'I'll try to put something in his head, hopefully we'll succeed. That is if Roma are the same mind as me.'

Totti's comments come after reports that Jose Mourinho is reportedly planning an ambitious attempt to convince Dybala to join the club.

Dybala has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A rivals Inter Milan, but Premier League sides Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal, as well as Atletico Madrid in Spain are also keen.

Mourinho looks likely to lose star man Nicolo Zaniolo this summer with Juventus particularly interested in the Italian international.

His exit would free up some space on the wage bill and provide an opening for Dybala to play regularly under Mourinho.

Dybala, who has spent seven seasons at Juventus, was taken off in the 78th minute of their 2-2 draw with Lazio on Monday, in what was an emotional evening for the Argentine playmaker.

The 28-year-old broke down in tears following the match which was his last home game for the club.

His contract is set to expire at the end of June and, after seemingly reaching an agreement in December, the club withdrew the offer and preferred to let him leave as a free agent.

The 28-year-old had wanted to continue in Turin and only announced last week that he would leave the club.

'It is difficult to find the right words to greet you, there are so many years and so many emotions involved, all together,' said the Argentina international in an emotional Instagram post on Sunday.

'I thought we would have been together even more years, but fate puts us on different paths.

'I will never forget everything you made me experience, every game, every goal.

'With you I grew up, I learned, I lived and I dreamed. It has been seven years of magic, 12 trophies and 115 goals that no one will take away from us. Never.

'Thank you for supporting me in difficult times. Thanks to those who have accompanied me over the years: from the first to the last, from the fans to the people who work within the club, everyone, coaches and teammates, employees and managers.

'Wearing this important jersey together with the captain's armband has been one of the greatest pride of my life, which I hope to show to my children and grandchildren someday.'
