Budapest will hold the Champions League final for the first time in the city's history in 2026, it has been confirmed by UEFA.
UEFA have today revealed the locations for European competitions in 2026 and 2027.
The big news was that of Hungary hosting the Champions League final in 2026 at the Puskas Arena, which holds a capacity of 67,215.
However, there has been a delay over the decision for the 2027 Champions League showpiece.
UEFA are awaiting information from the Italian Football Federation over refurbishment plans for the San Siro stadium in Milan.
AC Milan and Inter Milan announced their intention to build a new stadium in June 2019, for the start of the 2022-23 season, however this did not come to pass.
Beppe Sala, the mayor of Milan, is aiming to keep the two sides at the San Siro by renovating the stadium.
He believes that changes to the existing stadium can bring it up to the necessary level for the clubs in terms of revenues and infrastructure, and has promised a feasibility study in June for the potential renovations.
CalcioMercato reported in February however that both clubs are still unconvinced about remaining at San Siro and would rather build a new club-owned stadium elsewhere in Milan.
The Rossoneri have bought an area in San Donato, just outside the capital of Lombardy, while Inter are developing their own project in Rozzano.
It is still unclear if the two clubs will remain at the San Siro, and if a refurbished stadium would be ready in time for the 2027 Champions League final.
This year's Champions League final takes place at Wembley Stadium between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, while next year's showpiece event will take place at the Allianz Arena - the home of Bayern Munich.
UEFA meanwhile have also confirmed that the 2026 Europa League final will take place at Besiktas Park in Istanbul, with the 2027 final taking place at Stadion Frankfurt.
RB Leipzig's 'RB Arena' will host the 2026 Conference League final, while Besiktas Park will host the 2027 match - their second final in as many years.
The 2026 UEFA Women's Champions League final will take place at Oslo's Ullevaal Stadion.
However, there will be a new bidding procedure for the 2027 game, as Germany have already been appointed for finals in that and the preceding year.
