Manchester United have made three major signings this summer but Ruben Amorim will still be eager to bolster his squad in a couple more areas to ensure the team are ready for a huge season aehad
There is still time for Manchester United to get a few more signings over the line before the transfer window slams shut in just over a week's time.
United have only secured three major transfers this summer in forwards Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko - but manager Ruben Amorim still needs to bolster his side in midfield and defence.
Young defender Diego Leon has arrived but Amorim will hope for more experience at the back, while a central midfielder is also on his wishlist after walking away from a move for Brighton star Carlos Baleba.
There are also a handful of players hoping to seal exits from Old Trafford before the window closes, including Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.
Mirror Sport has rounded up all the major Manchester United news as the summer transfer window heads to a conclusion.
Napoli open to Hojlund move
Rasmus Hojlund is another United player who faces an uncertain future and he is one player Amorim would be eager to offload to balance the books.
United are listening to offers for Hojlund after struggling to impress since his £72m move from Atalanta in 2023, with just three goals in the Premier League last season.
The arrival of Sesko has pushed him further down the pecking order and he wasn't involved in the squad to face Arsenal last week.
Napoli have been one of the teams interested in Hojlund, but along with other teams in Italy keeping an eye on the Danish international, they were previously only keen on a loan deal.
But the complexion of the move has now changed after Antonio Conte lost forward Romelu Lukaku to injury.
With the Belgian now unavailable, reports from Italy state Napoli have made Hojlund their priority target and are willing to strike a deal that will see them include an obligation to buy into any loan deal.
Clearing Hojlund off their wage bill would allow United to reinvest the money into a new midfielder after splashing £72m on Sesko.
United begin Lammens talks
While United have just welcomed back Andre Onana from injury, Amorim is still unsure about the Cameroonian after some costly errors last season.
Onana cost United £47.5m when he joined from Inter Milan in 2023 but he has failed to impress with some mixed displays that have not inspired confidence.
United have been strongly linked with a new goalkeeper in this transfer window to provide more quality competition for Onana amid doubts over back-up Altay Bayindir too - after a howler against Arsenal.
And according to the Sun, United are closing in on the signing of Royal Antwerp shot-stopper Senne Lammens, who has been highly rated for a number of seasons.
Lammens has regularly been tipped for a move to Old Trafford after watching the 23-year-old turn into one of the most promising keepers in Europe and reports say personal terms have almost been agreed.
The youngster has played 63 times for the Belgian side and featured 44 times last season.
Stiller links debunked
Another player United have been linked to often is Angelo Stiller, who plays for Stuttgart. Stiller would fit the bill of a solid and reliable central midfielder Amorim is looking for.
The 24-year-old has impressed for Stuttgart in recent seasons and has been tipped for a move to a big club in the near future.
Last season he started 31 times in the Bundesliga for his team, scoring once and assisting eight times to show his creative qualities.
But while he has been earmarked as a player United are chasing, Sky in Germany have reported that rumours linking the player to Old Trafford are "wide of the mark".
The report states there have been no discussions between United and Stuttgart and there are no plans to move for Stiller before deadline day.
It adds that Stuttgart are planning for the player to feature for the club going into the new season despite reported interest from around Europe.

Managers come to utd and offload good players out (for cheap excuses of behavioral attitude other than footballing reasons of bad performances on the pitch) and end up recruiting average players not as good as those shown the exit door. Amorem should watch it . He has no excuse this season. He is not building any project otherwise why has Amorem sanctioned loan moves for nearly all our academy promising players?
In your senseless head now, all those players sanctioned are better than Cunha and Mbeumo😳🤣even at both flanks if fit, they are not in the level of Amad. You are an enemy of a good thing, it’s obvious

Just a central midfielder and GK only that all,,, Man U needs better scout, talents are plenty with little money buh y do we prefer spending big on players
It's nit the scouts fault, if you look at the trends from time you will understand thar when it comes to Manchester United interested in any player the clubs will over price the player just because it's man hester united, and even some clubs use Manchester United name to up the price of their players even when United is not showing interest in those players, so it's a trend

We only need a central or defensive midfielder and a good goal keeper then we move on for this season and see if it works for Man United. And if Antony Samba and Garnacho can't be kept at the club, then that's fine we just keep Hojlund and having two strikers isn't a bad idea because there's also time for injuries.

An obligation to buy is too much ask tbh Cause when Lukaku recovers, he will get the starting position once again
