Zlatan Ibrahimovic: 'I'm still God, I'm still number one'

After more than six months on the sidelines, since he played against Sassuolo in May 2022, AC Milan's Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back in a Serie A matchday squad and, unsurprisingly, talking a big game.

"I'm still God; I'm still number one: now I'm back and the music will change," he said.

Is it possible to be more Ibrahimovic? As you can see from his own words, the Swede has not lost any steam. On the contrary. He seems to be back with more than renewed strength and eager to help the Rossoneri dig themselves out of the hole they find themselves in - sitting sixth, 18 points behind runaway leaders Napoli.

"I have a lot of desire, I want to do a lot of things, what I have lost in the last few months," Ibrahimovic admitted in an interview with Sport Mediaset.

In this sense, the striker has two footballing milestones in his sights, but he will not be part of the squad that will play against Tottenham in the Champions League next week.

Firstly, he could become the oldest player in Italian Serie A to score a goal. That honour goes to another Milan legend, Alessandro Costacurta.

He also has a shot at breaking into the top 20 of Italian football's all-time goalscorers. He currently has a total of 155 goals, distributed between the three teams he has played for (Juventus, Inter and Milan). He would surpass another Rossoneri great, former striker Filippo Inzaghi, with 157.
