Midfielder Abdoulaye S. Mariko has returned to Orlando Pirates following the end of his short-term loan spell at Chippa United.
The 22-year-old Malian spent only a brief period with the Chilli Boys, where he managed just two appearances in the Premier Soccer League. Limited game time meant the midfielder was unable to fully establish himself during his stay, prompting an early return to his parent club.
Mariko was back in training with the Buccaneers on Monday, rejoining his teammates as preparations continue for upcoming domestic fixtures. His return adds further depth to Pirates’ midfield options as the technical team evaluates his role for the remainder of the campaign.
Having gained some match exposure during his loan spell, Mariko will now be hoping to impress in training and earn more regular opportunities at Orlando Pirates, as he looks to continue his development and cement his place in the squad.
