David Alaba's agent Pini Zahavi reportedly plans to start talks with Chelsea in January with the Bayern Munich stalwart looking more and more likely to leave the club in 2021.

The Austrian, who came through the youth system at Bayern and has made 398 appearances for the club, is yet to agree an extension to his contract at the Allianz Arena which expires next summer.

With the 28-year-old reportedly wanting £280,000-a-week and Bayern unwilling to meet those demands, Alaba looks set to leave on a free transfer next year and his agent plans to open negotiations with Chelsea, according to BILD.

The report adds that while talks with the Blues are in the pipeline, Ligue 1 champions PSG are also interested in the defender.

Alaba was part of the Bayern team which beat the French side in last season's Champions League final.

Both Real Madrid and Juventus have also recently been linked with a move for Alaba next year.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, the Spanish giants are prioritising the signing of the experienced defender as they look to snap him up for nothing.

Yet Italian site Tuttosport reports that Alaba's versatility is hugely appealing to Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo.

Originally one of the top left backs in Europe, Alaba has developed into a capable centre back in the past two years for the German giants.

Deadlock has been reached between Bayern and Alaba over a new deal, with club president Herbert Hainer saying earlier this month: 'We submitted to David and his adviser some time ago what we think was a very good offer.

'The answer was that the offer was still unsatisfactory and we should think about it again. We then decided to take the offer completely off the table. This means there is no longer an offer.'

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard strengthened his defence in the summer with another experienced free transfer, in the form of Thiago Silva from PSG.

Should Alaba move to Stamford Bridge, he would be competing for a starting place with Silva, Kurt Zouma, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
