Genoa are seeking a new keeper signing this month, but have been frustrated in their attempts to prise Bento away from Al-Nassr,
Despite the player's wish, Al-Nassr are refusing to do business with Genoa, so forcing them to look elsewhere.
TMW says Genoa football chief Diego Lopez is now preparing to move for Germany international Ortega.
Strictly third-choice at City behind Gigio Donnarumma and James Trafford, Ortega hasn't made a senior appearance this season.
Lopez is encouraged and hopes to convince City to be reasonable in negotiations for the experienced keeper.
