Juventus are closing on both Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt and ex-PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot, so can drop interest in Paul Pogba.
Late Friday night, Dutch paper De Telegraaf and Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio both stated De Ligt had decided to join Juve.
He’d snub Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Real Madrid for Turin in a deal worth €70m, but above all a five-year contract at €15-20m per season.
It would make the 19-year-old the second highest paid player in Serie A after Juve’s Cristiano Ronaldo on €30m.
Some are wondering how this is possible, but the key is in Rabiot, who has agreed to join them as a free agent after his Paris Saint-Germain contract expired.
That midfield reinforcement allows the Bianconeri to save the over €100m they’d otherwise have to spend on bringing Pogba back from Manchester United.
It also means the money raised by selling Joao Cancelo to Manchester City, with a deal worth €60m in the closing stages, would be entirely funnelled into the De Ligt transfer.
Juventus have also been notching up profit margins on several players already this summer, selling Riccardo Orsolini to Bologna for €25m, goalkeeper Emil Audero to Sampdoria, Stefano Sturaro to Genoa and Alberto Cerri for Cagliari for €9m.

Pogba should take responsibility and work for Man United and earn a move elsewhere. He is certainly become a player of the past with inconsistent performances for Man United. There were glimpses when the team were shining at Ole's initial time but with that falling flat on the face there was no real contribution from Pogba to alter that phase or he wasn't the name taken when they spoke about Man United's top performers. Lindelof, Rashford, Martial are the names that came up but not Pogba. Lukaku plays well for Belgium but does he cry for a move like Pogba. I think that is the attitude Pogba should adopt.
