Leicester City have decided to hand Nigerian striker Ahmed Musa a lifeline to make an impression at the club following the expected departure of Algerian forward Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City in the coming days.
Musa holds the honour of being the first and only Leicester City player to have scored at the World with his brace for Nigeria in the 2-0 win over Iceland in a group D game at the World Cup in Russia was at a time deemed surplus to requirements at the club.
A loan move to Russian side CSKA Moscow helped him discover his form and sharpness and his dazzling display for Nigeria at the World Cup has forced the club into a rethink regarding his possible sale.
A host of team around Europe, which includes French side Marseille, Turkish side Galatasary plus English Premier League sides Huddersfield, Brighton and the newly promoted duo of Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers have all been linked to him the last few days.
An unnamed team from Saudi Arabia failed with a big money bid for his services, same fate that a Chinese Super League team also suffered when they tried to lure him after his stellar showing for Nigeria at the World Cup.
Mahrez is expected to be sold to Premier League champions Manchester City and instead investing the reported £60m they will get from his sale in a new player, Owngoalnigeria.com reliably gathered that Musa will be given the chance to replace the Algerian in the plans of coach Claude Puel for next season assault in the league and cup.

Musa must never return to Bench warming. English Club saw nothing good in the Nigerian. CSK Moscow rehabilitate his lost form through playing time. Musa can stay put in Russia to consolidate his Career. Essiet Sunny. Lagos.

Playing him on the wings is not the best. He can't play with Vardy as they are similar.

you are absolutely correct! They see Epl as the ultimate dream.. forgetting that shinning at the World stage is far greater Achievement.. This is largely the reason for the lack of focus by our players in the International scene.. everything is Epl to them! [Sadtolook]

I think Nigerian player have one problem in playing in EPL. They always see epl as their greatest achievement and the highest they can go. They don't work hard to challenge the best players in the world
