Chelsea and Liverpool are chasing Lillian Thuram’s son, who could be available at a cut-price from Monaco this summer.

Khephren Thuram, 17, has not signed professional terms at Monaco despite being one of the most-prized players from their academy.

That could open the door for a move to the Premier League for the midfielder, who has also been watched by Juventus.

Thuram Jnr scored a brilliant goal in Monaco’s 3-1 defeat by Chelsea in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday.

He has already made his senior debut, appearing as a 63rd-minute substitute in Monaco’s Champions League defeat by Atletico Madrid in November.

Thuram Snr has resisted Monaco’s contract offers because he was keen to see how his son developed and choose the right direction for him.

And now English clubs could take advantage of that stance and the upheaval at Monaco which has saw manager Thierry Henry and former Chelsea director of football Michael Emenalo leave last month.

Vice-president Vadim Vasilyev is the latest high-profile figure at Monaco to be sacked, paying the price for their awful season in France.
