Manchester United are continuing to monitor Carlos Baleba, with the 22-year-old midfielder once again emerging as a plausible transfer target despite a challenging campaign at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Baleba had already been on United’s radar last summer, when personal terms were broadly agreed on his behalf. While a move failed to materialize, the Premier League giants have maintained a close watch on his development over the past year.
The Cameroonian international has endured a difficult season on the south coast. He has been substituted in 15 league matches, including four occasions where he was withdrawn at half-time, and has completed the full 90 minutes just three times. Those struggles have raised questions about his consistency and role within Brighton’s setup.
Despite that, United’s recruitment team remains convinced of Baleba’s underlying qualities. His athletic profile, particularly his ability to cover ground, win back possession and progress the ball through midfield, is seen as aligning well with the club’s long-term squad needs.
United scouts also followed his performances with Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he featured alongside Bryan Mbeumo. Across five matches, Baleba delivered what has been internally viewed as a positive tournament, reinforcing belief in his potential at the highest level.
With midfield reinforcements expected to be a priority, United’s continued interest suggests Baleba remains firmly in contention as they weigh options ahead of the next transfer window.

this team has only 2 cheap signings and epl is coming to manchester.that baleba and however else we sign for mid on the bench is fine.since skelly is forward minded mazraui will help cover him by transitioning our backline to a back 3 during attack.rashford can also give way to cunha.we also have Kone for our midfield as a young star next season.our backline is so overcrowded we don't need signings now.hojlund to cover for sesko

This guy is a smart ass, they over priced him last summer to block him from his dream club. So he dip form to drop his price tag, hope mu realize his strategy and go for him. He’s a good young talent ready to develop into a superstar.
