Manchester City have held talks over a potential deal for highly rated young Argentine winger Dario Sarmiento.
The 17-year-old plays for Estudiantes and was handed his first team debut last year by coach Gabriel Milito. The left-footed Argentina U17 international is rated around Β£18million and City have been following his progress closely.
Reports out of Argentina say talks have intensified in recent days with City willing to agree a deal that would potentially see Sarmiento sign next year when he turns 18.
City are always looking for exciting new youngsters for their academy - this year the club have already invested in Pablo Moreno from Juventus, Yann Couto from Brazilian outfit Coritiba FC and Filip Stevanovic from Partizan.
With manager Pep Guardiola recently signing a new deal with the club, he'll be hoping to secure the next batch of talented starlets who are ready to push for a first team breakthrough in the coming years.
The likes of Phil Foden have already made that transition, with the England midfielder now pushing for a regular spot under the Spaniard, while Guardiola has also given opportunities to defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Cole Palmer in cup games.

These new product almost always end up moving on, being victims of big clubs' policy of recruiting always established talents for immediate impact. Let's not be fooled..80 % don't make it. Apart of Xavi's Barcelona of 2008-2012 and Ajax, which TOP Euro team builds from scratch anymore?
