Manchester United are still locked in talks with Brentford over the signing of winger Bryan Mbeumo, but have reportedly agreed a different deal for a midfielder
Manchester United remain busy in the summer transfer window, with the squad overhaul demanded by Ruben Amorim beginning to take shape.
United know that major changes are needed if they are to climb the Premier League table in the upcoming campaign following a miserable 2024/25 season. They have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Diego Leon, but want many more deals.
The club are working on the sales of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and more. They know that departures will be key if they are to give Amorim a chance of turning things around.
But the backroom staff are also continuing to pursue new signings in a competitive market. The lack of European football at Old Trafford next season is hampering things, but a few new arrivals could be close, according to the latest reports.
Mbeumo talks continue
Manchester United ’s pursuit of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has been going on for a while now, but they are still yet to make the breakthrough. Nevertheless, the deal is still expected to go ahead – things are just taking a while.
Brentford are understandably playing hard ball over the transfer fee after Mbeumo’s outstanding 2024/25 campaign, in which he reached 20 Premier League goals, and United remain locked in talks. The Cameroon international is keen to join United and personal terms aren’t a problem
Fabrizio Romano now reports that United remain optimistic about striking a deal, but talks are expected to continue, with no agreement yet. Remain patient United fans, it will happen.
Deal for midfielder ‘close’
Elsewhere, there’s a bolt from the blue with Italian outlet Calciomercato reporting that United are close to signing Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra. AC Milan have shown an interest in the 22-year-old, but United have apparently stolen a march.
Milan were lining up an offer of between €25m and €30m (£21m-£25m), while Mundo Deportivo have credited Atletico Madrid and Aston Villa with an interest in Guerra. He has two years left on his contract with Valencia, where he has eight goals and four assists in 89 games so far.
Greenwood cash boost
As previously mentioned, United know they need sales to help fund their recruitment drive. They have no say over the potential sale of Mason Greenwood this summer, having sent him to Marseille last summer, but he could still provide them with some cash.
Greenwood performed well for Marseille last year, scoring 21 Ligue 1 goals, and Juventus and Barcelona have been linked with a move for the ex-United striker. Reports in Spain say that Al-Ahli have now entered running and have put a €70m (£60m) offer on the table.
That could be good news for United, who have a 50 per cent sell-on clause. Greenwood is under contract with Marseille until June 2029.

why you people talk too much are you the coach, are you to be blame at the end of the day, he's doing his work and know what he needs so what our problem, these indiscipline players who aren't ready to learn anything and thinks they on top because of huge wages
Believe me, it's gonna be the same shitty season. No improvement there. The style play is the first that will finish those players. Amorim is average and stubborn.

65m is not bad for a player like him, Liverpool paid over 100m for wits so why can't United 0ay just 65 for a player who scored over 20 goals last season

Leave this fraud and buy someone else. This guy is not that good compared to the players we have. Guide the players you've and make them the players you want them to be. Stupid Amorim is here to beef with young talents instead of assuring them he really demands from them. He'll go down as a worst coach United has ever had.

Ruben Amorim say major changes to MU, it’s because of his game tactics - why not just bring the whole team from his former team? Fail coach - unable to guide the team to win, admit your failures.
How many coaches have come to United and how have the so call players performed please leave the coach to do this work ,,,,, United fans talk too much , Pep did this at City when he came but who complained

My opinion Robin Amorim the team manager should be terminated very quick because he is not serious with the club and still unexperienced with football. MAN.UTD is a big club they should not go for such managers Not ashamed of yourselves also regarding the previous team manager Mr.FURGESON please you are creating big problems with the club why I don't know. People used to respect you but nowadays they just eye you Shameless old man. Also the Board is playing a big part in destroying the club. Remembered last 2 years a trillionear offered you 7b and you refused to sell it, you think you will get again that offer TRIBALISM is a big sickness first Circumcised your dirty PENISES than sit and talk with clean people IDIOTS.

This is what I'm saying. The guy is not a leader. Zero guidance skills. Instead of helping his players to understand his shitty style of play, he beefs them. Like, bro, what do you want to achieve? Make a friend with your players and help them develop they you want them to be. For, me he is stupid.

am with you - the problems lies with the coach game setting and tactic
He is a stupid young coach. He thinks he is best with his shitty tactics. Players are frustrated with his type of play, but he can't contain them. Instead, he beefs them. Like Guide the players you Lil mf. To me, he is an insecure guy who is just trying to be smart.
