Manchester United open to selling Andre Onana

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to part ways with André Onana this summer, though the club accept they are unlikely to recoup the £50 million fee paid to Inter Milan for his signature in 2023.

According to reports, the Red Devils are open to offers for the 29-year-old Cameroon international as they consider reshaping their squad ahead of the new campaign. However, market realities mean United expect to receive significantly less than their original outlay, a scenario that would represent a financial setback on a deal that once promised long term stability between the posts.

Onana, currently on loan at Trabzonspor, is said to have other ideas. The goalkeeper intends to fight for his place when his temporary spell in Turkey concludes in May. Despite speculation over his future, he believes he will be granted an opportunity to re-establish himself as United’s first choice.

His time at Old Trafford has been marked by flashes of brilliance mixed with costly errors, drawing scrutiny in a position where consistency is paramount. Yet those close to the player maintain he remains confident in his ability and determined to prove his worth if given a fresh start.

United face a delicate decision. Cashing in could help fund reinforcements, but allowing Onana another chance would reflect faith in a goalkeeper who arrived with high expectations, a goalkeeper who have gone out on loan to learn more.
