Metz reach agreement to sign Al-Shabab’s Habib Diallo

FC Metz have reached an agreement on personal terms with their former striker Habib Diallo (30), according to a report from Foot Mercato.

Diallo is currently under contract at Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab. However, since making the move two years ago, the Senegal international has struggled. As a result, he is looking to terminate his current deal with the Saudi side and complete a move away.

Whilst this is the desire of the Senegal international, the Saudi club are not necessarily inclined to do that, for now, as they would ideally like to garner a fee for the forward.

However, should Diallo successfully negotiate a way out of his Al-Shabab contract, he would be open to a move to Metz, where he played between 2013 and 2020. In that time, he netted 48 goals in 116 appearances.

Diallo still has a house in the area, as well as many friends. Despite interest from elsewhere, the centre-forward now has an agreement in place with Metz, Foot Mercato understands. However, he must still negotiate his contract termination with his current club, Al-Shabab.
