Arsenal target Monchi insists he has yet to make a decision about his future.
The transfer guru left Roma this week as part of an overhaul at the Serie A giants which saw Claudio Ranieri return as manager.
Monchi, full name Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo, has held talks with the Gunners with a view to replacing Sven Mislintat as technical director.
But he told Pagine Romaniste : "I have not decided my future yet.
"I do not think it’s time to examine these things. It’s time to remember beautiful things."
Monchi left Roma a day after coach Eusebio Di Francesco's dismissal.
Chief executive Guido Fienga said: "I want to put on record our thanks to Monchi for his dedication during his time at the club and we wish him all the best for his future endeavours in football."
The Spaniard played as a goalkeeper for Sevilla and retired in 1999 aged 30.
He went on to spend 17 years as sporting director at Los Rojiblancos before joining Roma in 2017.
Monchi said: "I would like to thank President Pallotta, the club's management, staff, players and fans for their support during my time at the club.
"I wish Roma a lot of success in the future."
Frederic Massara will look after the club's sporting operations following Monchi's departure.

Do you believe that De Ligt will join the Gunners, not Barcelona or Juventus?

Emery is on right track instead of getting him as a manager or coach sign new players 😧. What type of management is this?🤔
with a recognizable face, a lot of players will want to come. denis suarez came to arsenal because of emery. now if monchi comes we will get new good young players from serie a.

I wouldn't call fraud Monchi. He's one of the best. It simply didn't panned out. The team who gets him next is going to be veeeeery lucky.

Eh he was really good for Roma and along with Dezko a key part of their attack before he left (definitely wrong to say he wasn't great for them). Even at the time people were saying Liverpool got a good deal although the circumstances of the sale (they were forced to sell him due to FFP) meant that you can't really blame Roma or Monchi for it. He was good, he’s great now though

Who do you think should get the most blame? A.S. Roma's performance are absolutely in line with their budget and transfer market. So it's more on Monchi. Anyway, Roma did well in CL, in line with expectations, it's their serie a run that's been a bit more meh, but nothing tragic.

They’re going out to Rennes mate I was joking, due to Sevilla’s luck in the uel with monchi and emery I doubt it tbh, as funny as that would be

Monchi may not have been spectacular and EDF had his faults but you honestly can't sell all your star players and expect the next season to be fire. Even for and all the money we spent we were ass out first season because of lack of chemistry. I don't know why you guys thought different

Is it true that Man U is creating a director of football position? Maybe Monchi ends up there if they do.

He’s been heavily linked with us though, especially with Gazidis and Mislintat leaving. There’s a giant Monchi sized hole in our structure

In 2015 alone Sabatini brought us Rudiger, Salah, Dzeko, half Nainggolan and loaned Szczesny and Digne. And spent less than Monchi did on Pastore + Nzonzi alone.

Disappointed that he decided to quit Roma because of EDF being sacked, I can’t defend a quitter. But one being disappointed in Monchi jumping ship has nothing to do with his dealings. I will still say 90% of the players he brought are good deals and will help the team as long as a proper coach is at the helm.

Are you the Italian Arsenal ? Bro, my best friend is an Arsenal fan, it’s exactly the same. Win against a top club but fear the next game against Hull. It is not good for the heart to support Roma and Arsenal. It's not like that at Arsenal though.
