Thomas Muller is set to leave Bayern Munich after the Club World Cup and has poured freezing cold water on any prospect of a free switch to Manchester United this summer
Thomas Muller has said he was attracted to Manchester United “many times” during his career but has laughed off any suggestion that he would be interested in a summer move.
The German forward is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the Club World Cup and is on the lookout for a new club. And while he would be keen on trying his luck abroad, the veteran reckons it would be a poor fit for both himself and United were he to go to Old Trafford now.
In an interview with CBS Sports, Muller was asked: “Is there a European league for you that you kind of have a hankering to say 'I would like to have played in the Premier League' or…?"
And he replied: "Yeah, I thought about it. There were some moments I thought, 'Ok, maybe it would be nice to experience it.”
Muller was then asked "Do Manchester United look appealing to you?" The veteran replied: "Many times. Or do you mean now? No, no, no I'm not the right guy for them and they are not the right club for me. They want to have fun and I want to have fun so that's not a match.”
Bayern have had an approach for Liverpool star Luis Diaz rejected and have now been linked with a deal for Marcus Rashford, who is open to playing abroad having been told there is no route back into Ruben Amorim’s good books at United.

He said the truth na. He's not the right player for Man U. Even if he arrives freely he won't fit in well in our rebuilding project, so let him apologize to Barcelona for humiliating them during his prime, to see if they will welcome him because Barcelona's bankruptcy is well documented where they can't sign players whose contract is still active with their respective clubs except free agents. We have our money enough in the bank 🏦 so we can sign whoever we want to sign. Financially and other influence only Madrid is ahead of us. God I thank you for making me an avid Manchester United fan 🙏

Funny enough, no current Man U player is better than Muller at his age. That sums up the story of Man U as a football club.
