On 12 February, AFC Bournemouth can confirm that Alex Jiménez has completed a permanent move to the club.

Official Statement

AFC Bournemouth can confirm that Alex Jiménez has completed a permanent move to the club, having met the appearance threshold required to activate the transfer clause following an initial loan.

The 20-year-old, who joined the Cherries ahead of the current season, has now featured in more than half of the club’s competitive fixtures, triggering the terms that secure his future until 2031 on the south coast.

Arriving from AC Milan having come through the prestigious academy at Real Madrid, Jiménez has made a strong impression during his time at the Vitality Stadium, becoming a regular presence and gaining recognition weekly.

The full-back won the club’s Player of the Month award for December, while also winning Sky Sports’ Man of the Match accolade in the 1-1 draw with Brighton just last month.

Having made 22 appearances in all competitions, with his maiden Premier League goal coming against Liverpool, Jiménez has made quite the impression in red and black.

AFC Bournemouth’s President of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto, shared his thoughts with afcb.co.uk: “Alex is a young talent, who has already demonstrated his energy and commitment to the squad during these opening months with the club.

“He has incredible pedigree, having begun his development at both Real Madrid and AC Milan. We’re delighted to have him as part of our project, which began last summer and now continues after the obligation was triggered.”

Jimenez will continue to wear the number 20 shirt for AFC Bournemouth.
