OFFICIAL: Bournemouth sign Hungarian midfielder Alex Tóth from Ferencváros

AFC Bournemouth sign Hungarian midfielder Alex Tóth from Ferencváros on a five-and-a-half-year deal.

AFC Bournemouth is thrilled to announce the signing of highly-rated midfielder Alex Tóth on a five-and-a-half-year deal.

The 20-year-old joins the Cherries from Hungarian giants and current league champions, Ferencváros.

Tóth, who won the Nemzeti Bajnokság title in his home country last season, came through the academy at Ferencváros and made 52 appearances, scoring four goals, during his time with the first team.

The youngster has represented Hungary in every age group from under-18 level upwards, with nine caps for the senior squad after making his debut last year.

AFC Bournemouth's Head of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto, shared his delight following Tóth’s signing: “I'm really pleased to bring such a young talent in Alex to the club and I'm looking forward to working with him.

“He has come from a club that is used to competing at the highest level in Hungary, while also featuring in Europe, so we're excited about what he can bring to us in Bournemouth as he continues to develop further under the coaching of Andoni.”

Tóth also shared his thoughts after putting pen-to-paper: “It feels amazing to be a part of this club and I am excited to achieve good things.

“When I knew AFC Bournemouth were first interested in me, I was excited and happy because this is a good club in the Premier League, the best league in the world and the strongest league.

“The whole club, the whole structure is great. When I was speaking to the directors, it was quite obvious for me because they were such good guys. I am really looking forward to achieving great things and making good results with this team.”

Tóth will become the second Hungarian to play for the club, following in the steps of his international teammate, Milos Kerkez.
