Miralem Pjanic’s €60m transfer to Barcelona from Juventus has made a small profit for Roma.
Pjanic will move to Barca at the end of the season after a deal worth Arthur Melo minus €10m was recently agreed with Juve.
Now, Calcio e Finanza and the CIES Football Observatory have calculated that Roma stand to earn €600,000 from the transaction.
As per FIFA regulations, the Giallorossi are entitled to a cut of a ‘Solidarity Payment’ for their role in helping develop the midfielder before his 2016 move to the Bianconeri.
Overall, €3m – or five percent of the total transfer fee – will be split between the Giallorossi, Olympique Lyonnais (€450,000), Metz (€1.05m) and formative club Schifflange (€900,000).
The Bosnian played arguably the best football of his career at Roma, scoring 30 goals and providing 44 assists in 185 appearances for them between 2011 and 2016.
