Once Atletico Madrid trigger Joao Felix's release clause of 120 million euros he will become a Rojiblanco player, but Real Madrid made their own attempts to lure the Portuguese talent to the Spanish capital.

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City's interest in the youngster is well known, but Real Madrid's efforts to sign the player haven't been as widely reported.

Florentino Perez pushed for the forward's signing, even putting an offer of 130m euros on the table, but 50m euros of that figure was to come in add-ons.

This was unable to change the desire of the player and his representatives to make a move to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

With Marcos Llorente having joined already from the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid are about to see their cross-city rivals strengthened again.
