The Gunners have announced Emery who becomes just the club's second manager since 1996
Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of Unai Emery as the club's new manager.
The Spaniard - who left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season despite winning a domestic treble - has signed a two-year deal at the Emirates Stadium.
He becomes just the Gunners' second manager since 1996 after Arsene Wenger's 22-year reign was brought to an end in the wake of Arsenal's sixth-placed finish in the Premier League.
“Unai has an outstanding track record of success throughout his career, has developed some of the best young talent in Europe and plays an exciting, progressive style of football that fits Arsenal perfectly," said Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis.
"His hard-working and passionate approach and his sense of values on and off the pitch make him the ideal person to take us forward."
Emery's appointment comes following talks with the Arsenal hierarchy on Monday, with the north London outfit hopeful he can lead them back to the top of the English game following a series of underwhelming campaigns.
“I am thrilled to be joining one of the great clubs in the game," said Emery.
"Arsenal is known and loved throughout the world for its style of play, its commitment to young players, the fantastic stadium, the way the club is run.
"I’m very excited to be given the responsibility to start this important new chapter in Arsenal’s history. I have met Stan and Josh Kroenke and it’s clear they have great ambitions for the club and are committed to bringing future success.
"I’m excited about what we can do together and I look forward to giving everyone who loves Arsenal some special moments and memories.”
Gazidis will hold a joint press conference with Emery at Emirates Stadium later this afternoon. It's understood that the 46-year-old speaks basic English but it is not seen as an issue among those at the club.

Winner in Europe and in domestic league, progressive attractive football style, young and hopefully ambitious; That's not bad a profile for Arsenal and we have to give him all our supports as fans. With Unai, if Arsenal win Europa league next season and finish the league higher than 6th on the log it will be considered a good start, but that's not where Arsenal belong. And I bet the fan are not going to be satisfied with a good start or a hopeful patient continuation. Unai have come short so far in his career when he's had to mix it up with the Crème de la crème of clubs in Europe (UCL) or in a more competitive league (La Liga). But that exactly is where he need to improve in Arsenal to be considered a real success, else he would just be maintaining the status quo; after all nobody expect Arsenal to finish lower than the 6th even without a good coach anyway. I wish him all the good luck and I hope we can now finally heave a euphoric sigh of relief. Welcome to AFC, welcome to the family.

I am most certain that he won't last more than 2 seasons with the club. The present situation for the clubs is to appoint new managers and get instant success. If not so fire and appoint a new one. Wenger lasted in arsenal only cause that he was a great manager and he brought in youth and managed to win some titles with the little warchest the club had. If arsenal is planning on with the same policy with emery who managed a team PSG with hoards of money we all can guess what will happen .

Unai is a rising young manager who deserves massive financial support in bringing in quality players not the passive proposed £50 millions. He is better than Enrique in player management and talent identification, that Mislitant should not just buy him players but he must have a say as to who should be brought in or offloaded, only Real Madrid can follow such a policy because they buy the best not when you buy average guys.

From PSG where you point a player and they buy to where a club where you point a player and they wont buy. Wenger never got to buy players. Every time we hear Arsenal is going to buy a player and someone else buys them. Lets see if Emre gets to buy what players he wants. If he doesnt get at least 2 new deffensive players and 2 midfielders then Arsenal will be the same team fighting for 4th place and not a title.
