Manchester United appear to have been told how much it would cost for them to sign Atletico Madrid star Conor Gallagher.
United have recently been credited with an interest in signing Gallagher, with The Mirror reporting that the former Chelsea midfielder is a target for the Reds. There have been suggestions that Gallagher is viewed as a 'Plan B' for United in the event they fail to sign Carlos Baleba from Brighton.
A reported price tag of more than £100million is thought to be the key reason that stopped United from signing Baleba during the summer transfer window. Various reports have claimed that United still have an interest in Baleba, but now it seems that the club may have Gallagher in their thoughts as the New Year approaches.
Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo has claimed that Atletico may be willing to sanction Gallagher's exit if their asking price is met. It has been reported that the La Liga outfit value Gallagher at €60million (£52.4million) ahead of the January transfer window.
It remains to be seen if United would be willing to meet that asking price, or if they will be determined to try and sign Baleba at their next opportunity. Gallagher only signed for Atletico in the summer of 2024 for price tag reported to be in the region of £34million.

Read to understand. Don’t read to respond. He said “a lot of players from the EPL will not make it to La Liga “. He never said all players from EPL will not make it to La liga”. ‘A lot’ was the catch word. In fairness to his judgement, he’s 100% right. Follow the trend of history on transfers done btw both leagues, those that have crossed from the English aisle to the Spanish sun, a huge percentage has failed compared to those that has crossed from la liga to EPL which has had 70% success. One more important thing he pointed out that is spot on, he said it’s “not muscle”, which we will all agree with him unless we don’t watch both leagues and see their style of play. Having said all these, you need not start asking him about the other players u mentioned. Read to understand and not to respond
