Romano: Enzo hasn't agreed with Chelsea on new contract&might leave this summer

As I’ve mentioned before, the issue of Enzo’s contract with Chelsea is key to determining his future, and the two sides have yet to reach an agreement on a new deal. If a suitable opportunity arises this summer, he might consider a transfer, but don’t forget the situation at Chelsea: Enzo still has a long time left on his contract with the club; he is a key midfielder for Chelsea and commands a high salary. Chelsea spent a fortune to sign him, so the Blues still hold the upper hand regarding his future.

Regarding the rumors surrounding Enzo, a clarification is needed: when asked by reporters about Real Madrid, Enzo did not respond. Currently, there are no ongoing negotiations or discussions between him and Real Madrid. Enzo was telling the truth, as there are indeed no negotiations or communications of any kind between Real Madrid and him at this time, which is perfectly normal.

It is only March, and Enzo clearly did not deny Real Madrid’s interest in him; he merely denied that there are ongoing negotiations between the two parties. The midfield is a key area for Real Madrid’s summer reinforcements, and how the club will proceed with signings remains to be seen. Everyone, including Enzo himself, will have to wait a few months to find out (how things develop).

Real Madrid has not yet finalized which midfielders they will sign this summer, but it is certain that internal discussions regarding midfield reinforcements are already underway—which is perfectly normal. Therefore, Enzo has had no contact with Real Madrid at this time. This differs from Vitinha’s statement a few weeks ago—“I will not leave Paris Saint-Germain, nor will I join Real Madrid”—as Enzo merely stated, “There is currently no contact between the two parties.” The nature of the two situations is entirely different. Chelsea and Enzo still have a long-term contract, and they will decide how to proceed.
