On January 10, a report from Tuttosport claimed that Juventus were considering terminating Douglas Luiz's loan spell at Nottingham Forest early and then selling the Brazilian star to another club.
Douglas Luiz, 27, joined Nottingham Forest on a €3 million loan deal last summer, with a €25 million conditional buy-out clause and €3.5 million in bonuses.
Since joining Nottingham Forest, Luiz has made 13 appearances, 10 of them as a starter, and has provided one assist. However, he has only made 8 Premier League appearances, 5 of them as a starter, averaging just 41 minutes per game.
According to a report in Tuttosport, if Juventus wants to recoup €28.5 million from Luiz (€25 million buy-out clause + €3.5 million bonuses), the midfielder needs to play more than 45 minutes in at least 10 of the remaining 17 Premier League matches this season. Considering he has only started 5 times in the first 21 rounds, achieving this will be quite difficult.
The report further stated that, under the current circumstances, Juventus are considering terminating Douglas Luiz's loan spell at Nottingham Forest early before attempting to sell the Brazilian star to another club.

I think it's the right decision considering the circumstances..clubs in order not to activate the "buy option" would not play a good player they took on loan
