Real Madrid are in pole position to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, according to Sky in Germany.
The Spanish giants have already had a £85.4m (€100m) bid rejected for the 19-year-old but Leipzig want significantly more to let him go.
Diomande had previously indicated a preference to join Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer and agreed a contract with them until 2031.
Real have now also agreed personal terms with Diomande.
Jose Mourinho's side have been active in this window as Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries and Marc Cucurella have all been snapped up.
Liverpool have also expressed an interest in winger Diomande but aren't willing to pay more than £85m.
Premier League clubs Arsenal and Manchester City also remain interested in Diomande.
With six weeks left of the transfer window, the situation has been described as an open race by sources close to any potential deal. Real have now come to the table with an offer amid uncertainty around the future of Vinicius Junior.
The fee Liverpool are ready to pay at this stage would dwarf the Premier League's record transfer for a teenager, surpassing the £58.9m Manchester United agreed to sign Leny Yoro from Lille for in the summer of 2024.
Diomande interview: Leipzig & trials at Palace
"Everything went fast," says Yan Diomande. Indeed, it is extraordinary now to think that this time last year Diomande's entire senior career amounted to half a dozen starts for Leganes at the back end of last season as they were relegated from LaLiga.
He scored in two of those six games, against Espanyol and Valladolid. Even his team did not find the net in the other four. But the teenager did enough to persuade RB Leipzig to part with €20m to bring him to the Bundesliga. Once there, he has been a revelation.
Thrilling to watch and impossible to defend, Diomande is lightning, full of unpredictable enterprise. He has the things that cannot be coached and by listening to the things that can he is getting better. The very biggest clubs want him. The rest cannot afford him.

Replace Vini with this guy, Vini is too bad an image for Real. No matter how good he is, tarnishing Real image cannot be condone. Let him go.

I watch his highlight, he is so much faster and unpredictable than Vini. Looks like Real is going to sell Vini, otherwise where do the 100m come from

Honestly speaking don't we think this guy is being hyped. Is he really worth the astronomical fees bandied around for his signature. If Real Madrid finally snapped him, would the bernabeu be the best place for his development given his age......? With the high expectations at Real would he stand the test of time. Would he be able to step up and light up the bernabeu when it matters most. Would real have the patience to retain him if he fails to live up to expectations as in the case of kaka, Ozil, james Rodriguez, Di maria to mention but a few. Honestly speaking I think Diomande's future and development should've been the determining factor in his transfer not the money. Diomande is a young up and coming player whose talent should be honed as he matures into the game. Therefore interest in mortgaging his future development for the astronomical fees being placed on his head is not and will not be in his interest.
If teams like Madrid, PSg, man city and Liverpool wants his signature, then there must be something he has that you’ve not seen
