Bayern Munich to allow max capacity crowds
The long awaited news that max capacity crowds would once again be allowed at the Allianz Arena was confirmed today, as Bayern Munich will once again play host in front of 75,000 supporters.
An official announcement was released on the club’s official website, outlining the framework that is to be put in place that will allow for Bayern supporters to once more come in the ten’s of thousands to witness the Julian Nagelsmann regime take hold in Bavaria.
And the timing could not have been more perfect, as FCB square off against Nagelsmann’s old charge TSG Hoffenheim on 23 October to resume selling out the Allianz Arena in their first home match after the international break, though they pay a visit to high-flying Bayer Leverkusen the week before.
Die Kraichgauer sit in the bottom half of the Bundesliga table and are missing their former manager in a big way in the 2021-22 campaign, having won one of their last six league outings after kick-starting the 20-21 Hinrunde with a 4-0 thrashing away at FC Augsburg. Bayern should relish the chance to thank the home supporters properly.
Details behind capacity crowds announcement
FC Bayern vice-chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen was “…delighted, especially for our fans, that full spectator capacity is now once again permitted in our Allianz Arena. We will carefully take all necessary precautions to continue to ensure the highest level of safety and the health of spectators.”
But stringent measures have been put into place to allow for 75,000 fans to flood into the home ground, and Derek Rae – lead ESPN commentator for Bundesliga coverage – did an outstanding job outlining what those measures mean.
Via the official announcement, Bayern will adhere to a 3G-Plus policy for entry, and additionally, the previous measures enacted by the Bavarian state government regarding Covid-19 will also change, as “the requirement to wear a mask and social distancing regulations – as well as the ban on alcohol being served – will also be dropped for Bayern’s home matches.”
